Eternal Be His Memory!
Reverend Emmanuel J. Gratsias, 65, founding pastor of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection in Brookville, NY, died at home on Oct. 16, 2007 of pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Alexandra, devoted sons John and Alexander, a sister, Zoe, and many loving parishioners, relatives and friends in the United States and Greece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection Bell Tower Fund.
Father Manny led this parish for the entire 31 years of our existence. It is because of him that we are where we are today, both as a parish and as individuals. He was our priest, our leader, our mentor and our friend. He married many of us, and he baptized our children and grandchildren.
We love him dearly and will miss him more than our words can express.
